IRS Announces 2018 “Dirty Dozen” Tax Scams

On March 21, 2018 the IRS issued their annual list of “Dirty Dozen” tax scams. Their ongoing warning to taxpayers to remain vigilant about these aggressive and evolving schemes is important for everyone, as personal information “phishing” scams and identity theft are again two major issues that top the list.  Financial criminals are coming up with new developments regularly, and crimes are also increasing in frequency.  At present, the average citizen needs heightened awareness about keeping personal information secure to ensure they don’t become a victim of one of these scams.
